Smokey Eyes Tutorial For Smoldering Hot Eyes
For Smokey Eyes Steps #1 & #2
Step #1: Prep Skin With a Light Moisturizer
For the smoothest smokey eye application, cleanse your face, exfoliate, spritz on some toner, then prep your skin with a light moisturizer.
Step #2: Foundation & Concealer
Using your fingers, a sponge, or a foundation brush, apply foundation as you normally would. If you plan to be photographed, my recommendation is to get yourself a good one (like Make Up For Ever HD). For smokey eyes, you will want to go a shade lighter for contrast.
Smokey Eyes Step #3: EyeShadow
Using a medium eyeshadow brush, sweep basic brown eyeshadow across your entire eyelid, making sure to blend very well - and be sure to do your smokey eye right, meaning NO distinct lines.
Smokey Eyes Step #4: EyeLiner.
Line the inner rim of your upper and lower eyelids with a black eyeliner. Use a sponge-tipped applicator to smudge the lash line for blending. For smokey eyes to "pop", this step is crucial.
Step #5: EyeShadow
Using your sponge-tipped applicator again, apply basic black eyeshadow to softly define the eyelid crease and over your liner to define the top and bottom of your lashline. This will nicely set the eyeliner and begin to create dimension for smokey eyes.
Step #6: EyeLashes
To really open up your eyes, curl your lashes. Then apply the deepest black mascara you can get your hands on. If you plan to wear false eyelashes, now is the time to put them on. For smokey eyes, false lashes really magnify the drama.
Step #7: EyeBrows
With a light hand, use a dark brown brow pencil to fill in the sparse areas of your eyebrows. Tweeze or wax if you need to - just make sure our brows are neatly groomed. This step should never be overlooked for smokey eyes to truly look their best.
Step #8: Blush
Using a large blush brush, dust on a soft pink powder blush. Dust high on your cheekbones for the most drama. For smokey eyes showcasing, blush complements really well.
Step #9: Lips
Line, define and fill your lips with a flesh-toned lip pencil. Neutral lips are a great off-set for smokey eyes. With a lip brush, apply a natural rose creme lipstick. Gloss it over with a caramel lip gloss.
And, tada - you're done.
